What foods are poisonous to dogs and cats?
The big ones: chocolate, xylitol (sugar-free gum and some peanut butters), grapes and raisins, onions and garlic, alcohol, and for cats especially, lilies of any kind. Suspected poisoning is a call-now situation: (786) 275-4629 during hours, or see our emergency guidance.
How do I check a pet food recall?
The FDA publishes recalls at fda.gov's animal health recall page. If your pet's food is on it, stop feeding it and call us if any symptoms showed up.
Is it too hot to walk my dog?
Miami rule of thumb: press the back of your hand to the pavement for seven seconds. If you can't hold it, paws can't either. Walk early, walk late, and flat-faced breeds get extra caution because heatstroke finds them first.
